Genevieve A Dedon's Obituary
MANTUA Genevieve A. Dedon, 97 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Tuesday November 10, 2015 at her home in Mantua Township. Mrs. Dedon was God's Gift to Us on May 12, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stanislaus and Agnes (Eliasz) Hajek. A resident of the Mantua area since 1951, she grew up in Cleveland where she graduated from Cosmetology School and practiced her vocation for several years.As a homemaker, she was a foster mother to 33 children during her lifetime. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua.Mrs. dedon enjoyed cutting the grass at her home, yet most of all she loved the time spent with her family, whose love for her was only equal to that she had for all of them. Survivors include her sons Ronald (Deanna) Dedon and Roger Dedon both of Mantua, sister Marie Antonow of Maple Hts., her grandchildren Denise (Jeff) Anderson, Renee Rickarts, Jodi(Tim) Lohr, Matthew Dedon, Roy (Renae) Dedon, Frank and Bill Dedon and Troy Trimble, and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death in 1991 was her husband Myron Dedon with whom they shared a life together of 54 years, her son Raymond Dedon in 1991, brothers Stanley and Joseph Hajek and sisters Helen Oldham, Irene Nowak and Agnes Zaleski. No calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday November 14, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
