Albert J. Palinkas' Obituary
AURORAAlbert J. Palinkas, 93 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Sunday November 8, 2015 at his residence in Aurora. Mr. Palinkas was God's Gift to Us on August 17, 1922 in Bazetta, Township, Ohio, the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Pardovich) Palinkas.Formerly of Warrensville Hts., he had resided in Aurora since 1968. Mr. Palinkas began his banking career as a teller at Cleveland trust, rising to the position of Assistant Vice President at the time of his retirement following 33 years of employment. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S.Army. While he had many activities including fishing, bowling going to Amish flea markets and horse racing, he truly loved the outdoors and riding his tractor taking care of the family property. Up to 3 weeks prior to his passing, he still was mowing the yard that kept him active. While these pastimes were part of his life, the most important times spent were those with his loving wife whose love for each other will forever be cherished. On June 26, 1948, he married Theresa (Friday) Pilankas his bride of 67 years who survives at their home. Also surviving are three daughters Cathy (William) Zahn of Columbus, Ohio, Debbie (Phillip) Casey of Orlando, Florida and Cynthia (David) Teare of Burton, Ohio, his brother Elmer Palinkas of Bedford, Ohio, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday November 12, 2015, 12:00 Noon at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 17989 Chillicothe Road (Rt. 306) Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023, where visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Henderson. Final resting place will follow at Aurora City Cemetery,where full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No 193. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hospice of the Western Reserve 17876 St.Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
