Alex Forristal's Obituary
Alex Forristal, 25, of Hiram, OH, born August 7, 2000, passed away August 16, 2025. Alex was the son of Vernon & Amanda (Cox) Forristal.
Alex was a 2018 graduate of Crestwood High School, and 2022 graduate of Cleveland State University, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. Alex was a key part of the CSU Baja Society of Automotive Engineers Baja team where he led the design and build of the Baja car, traveling to several states, competing against hundreds of other colleges as the driver.
Alex enjoyed playing guitar, snow skiing, frisbee, volleyball, and just about any other activity that involved his friends. He enjoyed riding his bike anywhere he needed to go. It was not uncommon for Alex to ride 50+ miles a day. He enjoyed making mead and entering it into competitions. Alex was mastering the languages of German and Croatian. Alex was a true Mechanical Engineer through and through, building countless designs of his own. Alex loved the outdoors and loved to travel. He had the privilege to travel to Hawaii twice, many times to California, Philippines, a 30-day sailboat trip to the Caribbean islands of Antigua, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthelemy, and a 30-day trip to Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Belgium, Morocco, Spain, Bosnia, and France.
Alex is survived by his father & mother, Vernon & Amanda Forristal, siblings include his brother, Zack, and his sister, Rylee. Grandparents include Mona Hubbard & Jim Brettell, Jim & Valerie Cox, Don & Grace Slaby. He has many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Alex has a massive global network of friends and connections, and we are beyond grateful for each and every one of them. Alex is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Joseph Forristal.
We will forever miss Alex's free spirit and his beautiful smile.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 23, at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, from 11am - 3pm, with a eulogy starting at 3:00pm.
