Alfred "Al" Rose, Sr's Obituary
STREETSBOROAlfred L. Rose, Sr., 90 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Sunday April 19, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Rose was God's Gift to Us on June 8, 1924 in New York,N.Y. the son of the late William A. and Sylvia (Washington) Rose. Formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, he had been a resident of Streetsboro since 2003.Mr. Rose was a bus driver for Youngstown City Schools retiring in 2007, and formerly had been a bus driver in Peekkskill, N.Y. As Pastor of Jesus Christ Apostolic Church in Youngstown, he was loving known as the "Dancing Preacher". Pastor Rose was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the Merchant Marine. On August 2, 2003, he married his beloved wife Rosie Daniels-Rose who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Alfred Rose, Jr., Alan Rose, Cynthia Rose, Cheryl Rose, Susan (Milton) Ramos and Arlene Rose all of Youngstown and Sheena Hawkins of Moncks Corner, S.C., sister Louise Madden and cousin Sylvia Mayer both of Peekskill, N.Y., step-son Jody Daniels of Niles, Ohio and step-daughters Sean R. (Kenneth) Howard of Ravenna and Pastor Anisi Daniels (Pastor Arnold ) Smith of Kent and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Lena Rose.No calling hours. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday April 25, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at New Life Family Worship Center, 209 South Walnut St. Ravenna, Ohio with Co-Pastors Anisi Daniels Smith and Arnold Smith officiating. Final resting place will be at Rose Hill Memorial in Peekskill, N.Y. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
