Alvin Jesse Jeffryes' Obituary
RAVENNA-MANTUA Alvin Jesse Jeffryes (A.J.) entered his Heavenly home on his 89th birthday Saturday November 5, 2016 at his residence in Ravenna, Ohio. A.J. was born in Casa, Arkansas on November 5, 1927 the son of the late Ed and Ethel (Cherry) Jeffryes. He retired from TRW and Charles Svec Block Shop. He enjoyed watching sports and true crime stories on TV, and loved fishing and hunting. His biggest love was family and spending time with them. On October 24, 1954, he married Fredna (Murphy) Jeffryes his wife of 62 years who survives at their home. He leaves behind his daughter Kathy (Jeff) Horn of Rootstown; son Keith (Merlene) Jeffryes of Freedom Twp.; his daughter-in-law Catherine Jeffryes of San Antonia, Texas; grandchildren Scott, Kelly, Kimmy and Alec who will miss him greatly, and 2 great-grandchildren, Ryder and Lily. Also surviving are his siblings Harley (Evelyn) Jeffryes and Velma (Jim) Corder both of Arkansas and many nieces, nephews and friends who will also miss him. A.J. was preceded in death by his son, Kevin and grandson Jesse.Calling hours will be Friday November 11, 2016 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. A graveside funeral service will be Saturday November 12, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio with Chaplin Reggie Curteon officiating.
