Amy Hanson's Obituary
AURORA Amy C. Hanson, 94 years of age, passed away Saturday June 4, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Rootstown, Ohio on July 3, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Edwin E. and Amy (Fox) Hanson. A lifetime resident of Aurora, Amy was a member of the Church in Aurora, where she taught Sunday school for many years. As the payroll clerk at A.C. Williams Company in Ravenna, Amy retired after over 50 years of service to the company. She was a very active member of James A. Garfield Chapter No. 508 O.E.S. in Aurora, serving as Past Matron during her membership that spanned over 70 years. Amy was a member of the Aurora Historical Society, as well as other community functions, and will be remembered for her beautiful flower gardens and as a lover of animals, especially her cats. Survivors include her sister Edyth Bell of Garrettsville, Ohio and many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1977, her mother in 1987 and her sister Ardis Prindle. No calling hours. Amy will be laid to rest at a graveside funeral service Wednesday June 8, 2011 at Aurora City Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Kevin Horak officiating. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
