Andrew J. Breznai's Obituary
MANTUAAndrew John Breznai, 85 years of age, passed away Tuesday November 23, 2010 at his residence. Born on February 26, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jozsef and Zsuzana (Drotar) Breznai. A resident of the Mantua area the past 53 years, Andy retired in 1991 from Ohio Molding in Wickliffe, Ohio after 36 years of service where he was a foreman in the shipping and receiving department. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a former member of the Streetsboro V.F.W. While living in Cleveland, he had been a member of St. Elizabeth's of Hungary Catholic Church. Andy had been involved with sod farming in Mantua, was a carpenter in Cleveland and for several years operated A.J. Breznai & Son in the Mantua area. Andy had a gift of woodworking, and used his talents to craft many cherished items for his family. His mischievous nature and warm smile will always be remembered by his many friends and family. Survivors include his son Andy "Joey" Breznai and daughter Debbie Breznai both of Mantua, and his daughter Marilyn (Ralph) St. Hilaire of Hiram, his grandchildren Andrew John Breznai, II, Drew and Emily St. Hilaire and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 3 sisters and his grandson Bryan St. Hilaire. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where funeral services will be Monday November 29, 2010 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael Garvey of St.Joseph's Catholic Church officiating. Andy will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua Village with military honors provided by a U.S. Army Honor Guard Team and assisted by members of American Legion Post No. 193. Respectively acting as pallbearers will be Andy Breznai, Ralph St. Hilaire, Drew St. Hilaire, Andrew John Breznai, II., Steve Breznai and Jim Breznai. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department.
