Anna Rose Stadtlander's Obituary
SHALERSVILLEAnna Rose Stadtlander 104 years of age of Shalersville, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna.Mrs Stadtlander was born on November 10, 1904 in Cleveland, Ohio; the daughter of the late Joseph and Maryann (Reis) Janek. A lifetime Shalersville-Mantua area resident, Mrs. Stadtlander was a homemaker who worked the family farm, helped in their nursery and sawmill business and was always cleaning up after all of her family, reminding them of her role, and remained the Matriarch of the Stadtlander family until the time of her passing. During the Great Depression, she was employed as a waitress the Harvey Girls Restaurant in Cleveland, earning $9.00 a week. Survivors include her son George J. (Dolores) Stadtlander of Shalersville, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death in 1968 by her husband George R., her son Joseph P. in 1979 and by her brothers Joseph and Peter Janek and sisters Mary Aman and Hilda Gavit. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M.- 4:00P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home and Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Mrs. Stadtlander will be laid to rest beside her husband at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the cemetery service at the Mantua K.of C. Hall. Memorials are suggested in her name to the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department.
