Peter and I were in school together, starting in kindergarten, so I remember Mrs. Stachowski from a very long time ago. Living nearby, my dad would help her bale hay and we (my sister and I) were allowed to ride on the wagons. I'm sure Mrs. Stachowski thought we were nuts when we showed up in bare feet in a newly cut hayfield. She would allow us to walk in that glorious woods on her property - and even said yes, when we wanted to transplant some marsh marigolds from that woods. They flourished in the lowspot of our yard - 5 of them. But now I'm afraid they have succumbed to a disagreeable change in their their habitat. Still hoping to find at least one next spring. Anthony, Peter, Jim - thanks for being our neighbor. What a long, productive, unique life your mother had. I know you will miss her - and I will miss seeing her weekly at the post office. Mrs. Stachowski was an amazing woman and a trailblazer. She could do anything and loved her Alpacas! I admired her and spent some time with her when I met her while I was working for her sons at the Arabian Farm. She was wonderul and I am so glad she had a long and interesting life! She left a legacy of talented children as well!
