AURORA
Arlie D. Lawley Jr., 94 years of age, of Aurora, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022. Born in Pelsor, Arkansas on December 25, 1927, he was the son of the late Arlie D. and Susie (Robertson) Lawley Sr. He was a resident of Aurora since 1985, and was a member of the 1st. Baptist Church in Aurora. Mr. Lawley had been employed at Sugardale Foods in Canton, and then at Stouffer Foods, where he held positions in management. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and the cherished memories he created will forever be remembered by his family. On March 25, 1987 he married Joan Lawley who preceded him in death on October 1, 2014. His son Terry Mitchell also preceded him in death. Survivors include his sons Arlie D. Lawley, III of Waynesburg, Ohio, Gregory Lawley of Massillon, David (Kathy) Mitchell of Summersville, West Virginia; sister Virginia Craig of New Philadelphia, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. No calling hours. Final resting place is at Friendship Cemetery in Lewisville, Ohio.
