Arnie A. Cowger's Obituary
MADISON-WINDHAMArnie A. Cowger, 67 years of age, a resident of Madison, Ohio since 1984, became Our Gift to God on Tuesday September 14, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Geneva. Mr. Cowger was God's Gift to Us on November 11, 1942 in Painesville, Ohio the son of Duncan and Ethel (Wilson) Cowger.Mr. Cowger was a resident of Windham for 10 years prior to moving to Madison.He was an over the road truck driver for most of his life, and also was employed at Midwest Materials in Perry for several years, where he then retired from. Mr. Cowger farmed his own farm in Madison something that he took great pride in doing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a sharpshooter while in the service, and a longtime member of the American Legion. Arnie enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, working on cars and the outdoors, which he found an appreciation of watching all animals and birds in God's surroundings. On August 21, 1982, he married Sharon (Pingley) Cowger who survives at their home.Also surviving are his children Kimmie (Phillip) Lowe, Sherry (Mike) Cardenas, Arnie R, Cowger and Eddie J. Cowger all of Indiana and Tammy (Guy) Morales of Illinois; his father Duncan Cowger of Madison; brothers Jobie Cowger of Indiana, Arnett Cowger and Donald (Carol) Cowger both of Warren, Ohio; sisters Wanda Gage of Madison and Jeannie of Maine and Vickie of Ashtabula, as well as 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother . Funeral services will be Saturday September 18, 2010 1:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St.Rt. 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt.422) Mantua where visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of his services, with Pastor Peter King officiating. Mr. Cowger will be laid to rest at Windham Township Cemetery with full military honors.
