Arthur "Art" Thrasher's Obituary
Arthur “Art” Thrasher, age 68, of Ohio, passed away on March 18, 2026. He was born on January 28, 1958, in Ravenna, Ohio.
Art was a 1977 graduate of James A. Garfield High School in Garrettsville, Ohio, and later obtained his CDL license. Throughout his life, he worked in a variety of roles, including driving taxis for the Amish community, and employment with Geauga Industries, Ohio E-Check, and Matrix.
Art had a natural wit and a wonderful sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him. He took great pride in being a safe and dependable driver for his Amish friends. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hiking, visiting parks, and watching eagles. He also had a passion for photography and was known to be a skilled mechanic out of necessity. In his free time, he enjoyed gambling and appreciating nature.
He is survived by his siblings: Linda M. Bennington, Deborah J. Smith, Carol A. DelMar-Mendoza (Daniel), and William W. Thrasher (Estella).
He was preceded in death by his parents, William W. Thrasher and Margaret C. Thrasher, and his half-brother, Jeffrey O. Thrasher.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Nelson Community House, 11642 Windham Parkman Rd., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231.
