Cousins… we were also two boys and one girl closely matching in age, and this made for some pretty good playmates! There were loads of hi-jinx. We kids looked forward to the Sunday drives to Hiram and the hours of fun we had whilst parents seemed to talk endlessly and drink coffee. This is such a hard loss, and we can’t be together - we’re the grownups now and we can’t come together to remember and mourn our singularly unique cousin Audie. No hugs, talking or drinking (coffee). So from many parts of the country -- virtually sending healing love to all in the family; to Gail, Karen, Meghan, Stacey Becky and the many nieces and nephews far and wide and to all the many friends he touched in the Hiram community. I will keep in my heart a cheshire grin and the last very funny story.
Gail and family, so sorry to hear of Audie’s passing. A strand of community is broken. Hiram bred strong and colorful personalities and he will not be forgotten. A lifetime of service to many.
So sad to hear but had a chat with him 2/3 weeks ago me and my drivers did lots of asphalt with him Back in the day he really did great work I remember accidentally bumping the paver to dump some asphalt in and his fresh plastic bottle of Coke that he set by the paver controls tipped over into the hot Asphalt . Just a good guy will be greatly missed My condolences to the family
Audley did so much to help his neighbors in the Northern Portage community. He always had great stories and a unique sense of humor. He will be missed by many.
Dearest Karen, so sorry for this loss. Brothers are special, and alway look after their little sisters. I will always here his voice when he called me “RYDER”....made me smile, when the cool older guys noticed us. Love you my friend! MaryJo ‘RYDER’- Fox
What a great man I always enjoyed talking to Him I worked for Zuver Construction through my Brother Tony Hood Trucking. We worked many jobs together Mr Zuver was straight forward and a hard worker God has him now laying asphalt in heaven. God Bless.
I have known Audley since I was kid. He just recently paved my driveway and we talked for hours one day about everything. I enjoyed our conversations over the years when we would see each other. What a great loss. My deepest condolences to his family.
