FREEDOM TOWNSHIP- RAVENNA
Auren John Evans, 87 years of age, passed away Monday March 12, 2018 in Akron, Ohio. Born in Wayland Township, Ohio on May 31, 1930, he was the son of the late John R. and Hilda (Philipp) Evans. A lifetime Portage county resident, he had been employed at both Paul’s and Horning Concrete in Garrettsville from where he retired, as well as farming the family farm in Freedom Township. Mr. Evans loved to talk with family and friends about cars, and his love of farming carried over in inspecting all type of farm equipment. He also enjoyed traveling, and square dancing which resulted in meeting his wife Adaline. On December 18, 1999, he married Adaline ( Lang) Evans who survives at their home. Also surviving are his brothers Robert (Diana) Evans, Ralph (Linda) Evans and Charles (Connie) Evans all of Ravenna, and his step-son David (Helen) Griffith of Crestview, Florida. Visitation will be Sunday March 18, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of State Route 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M., where funeral services for Mr. Evans will take place on Monday March 19, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor John Eiwen. Final resting place will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Township, Ohio.
