Barbara Ann Berecek's Obituary
Barbara Ann Berecek née Sellers, born December 14, 1960, passed away peacefully surrounded by her closest family members on January 15, 2025. She had a loving 46 years with her husband Steve Clarence Berecek, who has lived up to the vows, "in sickness and in health." He not only loved her unconditionally throughout all of the years spent together, but painstakingly and adoringly took extra special care of his sweetheart the last 8 months as she endured her battle with kidney cancer.
Barbara was a wise woman, and followed all of her aspirations including organic gardening, herbal studies, singing in a band, hairdressing, painting, crocheting, and many other hobbies. She had a thirst for knowledge, and quenched it by reading whatever sparked her interests. She was especially interested in history, current affairs, political awareness, and religion.
Although her life was cut short, she did her best to live it to the fullest. For her, that meant raising her family, being an excellent listener, and always being conscious of other's feelings. She was the epitome of the saying "do unto others." Barbara will be missed forever and always.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Steve, Kids Jessica Ann and Steve Adam, grandkids Alexandria, Gavin, and Steve Cameron, many nieces and nephews, her siblings Amelia (Neal), Glen (Sondra), Susan, Belinda (Tom), and Edwin.
Her parents, Betty Greenwell and Glen Sellers, as well as her youngest sister, Lliana Mobley, preceded her death.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail (at the corner of St. Rt. 44), Mantua, from 11 am - 1 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
