Benedict J. Franckowiak, 64 years of age, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 27, 1956, he was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Helt) Franckowiak. He grew up in the “Fleet Avenue” area of Cleveland where he was a member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. A self-employed mechanic, Mr. Franckowiak moved to Freedom Township in 1991, and enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, and especially riding motorcycles. He was a talented musician, playing the Bass, Benny “Boom Boom” Franks, and was formerly part of the band “August Rain”. Survivors include his children, Gregory (Rachel) Franckowiak of Colorado, Sara ( D.J.) Warner of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and Melissa (Robert) Ranta of Shalersville. His siblings, Barbara Whitlam, and Bernice Herbert, both of Vero Beach, Florida, and 6 grand-children also survive. Preceding him in death was his twin brother Bryan F., and brother Bernie F. Franckowiak. Calling hours will be Monday August 2, 2021, from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M., with Fr.
