Bernadette "Penny" Grossnickle's Obituary
AURORABernadette C. "Penny" Grossnickle, 88 years of age, passed away Saturday July 17, 2010 at her residence in Aurora, Ohio. Born on July 16, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Michah and Nettie (Kenfield) Finn. A resident of Aurora for over 60 years, she was a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service, serving as a postal clerk at the Aurora Post Office. Penny volunteered tirelessly of her time for the City of Aurora on the Disaster Team, Safety Town and used her gardening skills as an active member of the Aurora City Beautification Committee. In 1997, she was the Grand Marshall for the 4th of July Parade honoring her many years of contributions to her city. She and her late husband Robert were members of the "Golden Mike" CB radio club. Survivors include her loving son and daughter-in-law Scott (Patricia Brankatelli) Grossnickle of Macedonia; her nephews Thomas (Almast) Fin of Bainbridge, Ohio and David (Nancy) Grossnickle of Bay Village, Ohio and many other carrying family members and friends. Also surviving is her devoted dog Lucy. She was preceded in death in 1976 by her husband Robert V. Grossnickle and also her daughter Judy Grossnickle. Calling hours will be Wednesday July 21, 2010 from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.-8;00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St. Rt. 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (South of Route 422) Mantua, where her funeral services will be Thursday July 22, 2010 at 10:00 A.M.Mrs. Grossnickle will then be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio beside her loving husband Robert V. Grossnickle.
