Bernard L. Pyles' Obituary
STREETSBORO Bernard L. Pyles, 79 years of age, passed away Thursday May 12, 2016 at his residence. Born in Farmington, West Virginia on November 19, 1936, he was the son of the late Fred W. and Dorothy (Brookover) Pyles. A Streetsboro resident since 1971, Mr. Pyles had been employed as a machine operator at Filmco for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran honorably serving his country. Hunting, fishing, gardening, watching baseball were pastimes he enjoyed, while spending time with his grandchildren that he loved so much were very special memories that he has given for them to always cherish. His family will also always remember the "Unique method that Bernard had for taking care of his fish tank", which will bring a smile to their faces in times to come. On February 2, 1960, he married Loretta (Weaver) Pyles who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Tina (Douglas) McMullen of Hiram and Christine (Jay) Woodson, Jr. of Streetsboro; siblings Carl Pyles and Patricia Bland both of Farmington, West Virginia; 4 grandchildren Tara (Jason) Gage, John (Alyse) McMullen, Laura (William) Prochazka and Serena Woodson, and 3 great-grandchildren Haley, Matthew and Maximillian. He was preceded in death by his siblings Lawrence Pyles, Jo Ann Green, and Katherine Pyles. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday May 24, 2016 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 6:00 P.M.-7:30 P.M., where his memorial service will begin at 7:30 P.M. with Pastor Darryl Livengood officiating. Military Honors will follow provided by U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Final resting place will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Farmington, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Kindred Hospice, 33610 Solon Road Suite 3 Solon, Ohio 44139.
