Bill Wagner's Obituary
MANTUA Rolla W. "Bill" Wagner, Jr., 76 years of age, passed away Wednesday December 9, 2015 at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Born on January 27, 1939 in Paintsville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Rolla W. and Genius (Marshall) Wagner, Sr.A resident of the Mantua-Shalersville areas the past 54 years, Bill had been employed at Filmco in Aurora in the Accounting Department for 46 years, retiring in 2012. Bill also worked at H.& R. Block for 35 years in the preparation of individual income tax returns. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garrettsville. Bill was straight forward in letting you know just how he felt, which was an important part of being the man that people respected. Bill also will forever be remembered by people of all ages as "Granddaddy" and will be missed by family and friends for the cherished memories he has left to those he loved, and for those who loved him. Also, he will always bring a smile to everyone for his "Love of Sweets" never to pass up the opportunity to enjoy them. On December 25, 1960, he married Jean (Pigg) Wagner who survives at their residence. Also surviving is his daughter Dana (Steve) Vanderink of Hiram, Ohio, brothers Douglas Wagner of Lockport, New York and Paul (Juanita) Wagner of Shalersville, sisters Betty Spradlin of Paintsville, Kentucky and Brenda (Jerry) Polisky of Florida, his daughter-in-law Dona Wagner of Mantua, and his grandchildren Brittany, Billy, Alan and Bryan, and great-grandchildren Harper, Emersyn, Addison and Aiden. He was preceded by his son Brad Wagner on March 12, 2011. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Monday December 14, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor David Gray. Final resting place will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua Village, Ohio.
