Harold A. "Butch" Hartman, Jr. , 70 years of age, found peace on Saturday March 31, 2012 following his passing at his residence in Pinckney, Michigan."Butch" or "Hal" as he was known to family and friends, was born on July 7, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Harold A. and Anna Marie (Kotaka) Hartman, Sr. Butch grew up in Aurora where he graduated from Aurora High School. As a member of the Aurora High School football team, he played on the same field as his father had years prior. Following high school, he attended and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. For many years he worked on the Apollo space missions and 747 guidance systems. A resident of Michigan the past 40 years, he spent those 40 years in enjoying life on the lake in Pinckney doing what he loved most, fishing, boating, hunting and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his father Harold A. Hartman, Sr. of Aurora, three children Harold A. "Chip" Hartman, III of Pinckney, Dr. Kristen M. (James Sopa) Hartman-Sopa and Julie A. Tews both of Wisconsin, as well as four grandchildren Alex M. Sopa, Michael J. Sopa, Victoria A. "Tori" Tews and Elizabeth M. "Ellie" Tews. He was preceded in death by his mother Anne Marie Hartman on December 27, 2011. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 5, 2012 12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua with Rev. Laurie Metzko officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetary in Mantua Township, Ohio.
