Carol Jean Batchelder's Obituary
Carol Jean Batchelder, (nee Hatcher), age 89 of Newbury Twp., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, August 15, 2025. Born January 4, 1936, in Auburn Township, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Edith (Monroe) Hatcher.
Carol was a graduate of Kenston High School and continued her education with two years of college. Her working career was devoted to the family hardware business in Newbury Twp. Carol's work was more than a job; her caring nature and passion for her community turned customers into friends. Carol also enjoyed working in her flower gardens and traveling to new places, creating lasting memories with her family and friends.
Family was the biggest joy of Carol's life. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lynn Keyes (Jerome), and her son, Thomas Batchelder (Patti); grandchildren, Jayme Kollman (David), Sean Keyes (Kim), Adam Keyes, Kyra Batchelder, and Jessie Batchelder; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Hatcher (Ruth).
As we bid farewell to Carol Batchelder, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. Her memory will be cherished and honored, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 12 - 1 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Carol will be laid to rest at Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Twp. immediately following the service.
