Carol Dickinson's Obituary
SHALERSVILLECarol Ruth Dickinson, 81 years of age of Delaware, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Born on December 21, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Ruth (Layman) Kruse. A longtime resident of Shalersville, Mrs. Dickinson moved to Delaware in 2001. She formerly attended the Mantua Center Christian Church. She was a phenomenal mother and the first and greatest teacher of her children and grandchildren. She loved to laugh and joke with people, and had a quick wit and great sense of humor. The best moments of her life were when she was laughing with her family. She loved her children with a profound intensity. She taught her family to be strong and to love deeply. She taught them to focus on the positive things in life and avoid the negative. She was an outstanding cook and loved to prepare meals for her family. She also enjoyed reading and traveling, and was a hugh fan of Frank Sinatra. She was preceded in death and is now together again with her loving husband Edgar Bruce Dickinson, her grandson Jeffrey Wright, and two sisters and one brother. Mrs. Dickinson is survived by four children Kathleen (Peter) Matuscak of Columbus, Susan (Robert) Wright of Shalersville, Bruce (Pamela) Dickinson of South Dakota and Pamela (Kenneth) Minard of Delaware, six grandchildren Gregory, Michelle, Brian, Matthew, Benjamin and Scott, four great-grandchildren Alexander, Hannah, Sydney and Alyssa. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 11:00 A.M. at the Mantua Center Christian Church with Rev. Chad Delaney officiating. Her final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Mantua Center Christian Church, P.O. Box 550, Mantua, Ohio 44255.
