MANTUA
Casella C. Stamm, 98 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Monday October 7, 2019 at Aurora, Ohio. Mrs. Stamm was God’s Gift to Us on September 10, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois. Her teaching career began after graduation from Dennison University with a degree in Education, and spanned a lifetime of education with several school districts. A resident of Mantua for over 75 years, she had been employed at Crestwood High School until her retirement. Mrs. Stamm was a very active member of Hilltop Christian Church in Mantua, where she held different offices, always being available to assist her church whenever called upon. When her children were younger, she was active with Girl Scouting, and also enjoyed family camping trips to Canada. Casella was a longtime volunteer at Reed Memorial Library, and will be remembered for the Puppeteering and Marionette shows that she provided for children both at the library, and at numerous other venues bringing smiles to the faces of children of all ages. She married her beloved husband Ted Stamm whose unexpected passing took place in 1972. She also was preceded in death by her brother James Call. Surviving are her devoted children Barry (Jane) Stamm, Del (Helen) Stamm and Julia Stamm, all of Mantua, and Wendy (Frank) Brown of Mayfield, Ohio; 6 loving grandchildren and 3 cherished great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where her funeral service will be held Saturday October 12, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Matt Kluchar. Final resting place will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua Village, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Reed Memorial Library, or the Hilltop Christian Church.
