Cathryn J. Courtad's Obituary
AURORA Cathryn J. Courtad, 79 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Courtad was God's Gift to Us on February 27, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Krynak) Adams. Formerly of Northfield, she had been a resident of Aurora since 1988. A member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Aurora, she had come to truly enjoy time spent and associations within the church. Mrs. Courtad was an avid reader and bingo player, while her most cherished times were those spent attending the sporting events with her late husband James G. Courtad of their grandsons, and being with her family and great-grandchildren for family functions. On September 3, 1951, she married her beloved husband James G. Courtad who preceded her in death on March 23, 2013. She also was preceded by her dear brother Richard Adams and dear sister Ethel Dawson. Mrs. Courtad is survived by her devoted son Dennis (Mary Chris) Courtad of Aurora, her dear sisters Patricia Berger of Parma and Joan Schmetzer of Independence, Ohio, her loving grandsons Christopher, Timothy, Thomas and Nicholas Courtad all of Aurora, and cherished great-grandchildren Cole, Kara, Curt, Cal, Carmen, Camryn, Vincent, Domnic, Rocco, Presley and Roman. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday September 20, 2013, 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 342 South Chillicothe Road, Aurora, Ohio 44202 with Rev. James M. Daprile,PhD-Pastor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of mass. Mrs. Courtad will then be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Aurora City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Memorial Fund of the church in her name.
