SHALERSVILLE
Charles M. Cheatham, 74 years of age, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Franklin County, Alabama on July 13, 1947, he was the son of the late Harris and Ruby (Rutherford) Cheatham. A resident of Shalersville the past 45 years, Mr. Cheatham had been employed as a truck driver for Local 436. Mr. Cheatham served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era. While he enjoyed collecting miniature cars and trucks, his very special times were those with his grandchildren, family, and 2 Boxers. On January 11, 1969, he married his devoted wife Rose (Watkins) Cheatham who survives at home. Also surviving are his cherished children Charlie (Lisa) Cheatham of Aurora, Tom (Katelynn) Cheatham, Mike (Carol) Cheatham, and John (Marina) Cheatham, all of Mantua, Angela (Mike) Pascal of Aurora; dear sisters Linda (Kenny) Dyer of Virginia and Susan (Dan) Reusel of Ravenna; 13 loving grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Scolaro in 2015. A private family service is being held at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua with Pastor Chad Delaney officiating. Final resting place will then follow at Riverside Cemetery, Shalersville Twp., with full military honors to be observed by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
