Charles Martin's Obituary
MANTUA TOWNSHIP Charles Martin, 85 years of age, a resident of the Mantua area since 1953, passed away Friday November 13, 2009 at Akron City Hospital. Mr. Martin was born on October 29, 1924 in Bradley, Ohio the son of the late Frank and Rose (Peto) Martin. Mr. Martin was employed for over 30 years as a fabricator at Air Maze Corporation in Cleveland, retiring after his years of dedicated service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater and earning 2 Bronze Stars. Mr. Martin was gifted that he was a gentlemen who could fix anything and everything, except maybe a ballbearing. Those times he spent with his three grandchildren were very special moments in his life. On July 21, 1953, he married Delores (Maryo) Martin who survives at their home. Also surviving are his daughters Cindy (Harry) Diamond of Edinburg and Charlene (David) O'Donnell of Mantua; 2 sisters Ann (Ed) Liptak of North Royalton and Sally Comyns of New York and his grandchildren Paul O'Donnell, Ashley O'Donnell and Sara Diamond. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard, Frank, and Elmer Martin and his sister Irene Wymer. No calling hours or services. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the World War II Memorial in Washington (www.wwiimemorial.com).
