Christine A. Nero's Obituary
MANTUA - Christine Adele Nero, 49 years of age, passed away Tuesday July 17, 2012 unexpectedly at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born on September 15, 1962 in Claridon Township, Ohio, she was the daughter of John R. and Saundra (Dombeck) Skala, Sr. Chris grew up in Auburn Township and was a 1980 graduate of Kenston High School. She has been employed as an insurance agent since 1980 with Skala Insurance Agency. Chris has devoted her life to her children, always being present for their baseball, soccer, dance and band activities, presently being the president of the Crestwood Band Patrons. Chris put countless hours to help others, and will always be remembered as a "Fantastic Lady" and beloved by all who came to know her. She enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and had a special love for elephants which included a large personal collection. On September 15, 1991, she married David J. Nero who survives at their home. She is also survived by her loving children Bryan and Nikki "Bam Bam" Nero both at home, her father and step-mother John R. (Karen) Skala, Sr. of Bainbridge Township and mother Sandi Peterson of Thompson, Ohio, siblings John R. (Tori) Skala, Jr. of Ravenna, William (Lissa Marie Krueger) Peterson of Willoughby, Scott Skala of Florida, Jennifer (Tony) Weston of Newbury, Kim (Steve Smith) Skala of Freedom Township. Chris also leaves to mourn her passing many other loving family members and friends. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, State Route 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, where her funeral service will be Monday July 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Chad Delaney officiating. Chris will then be laid to rest at Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Township, Ohio.
