Clara L. Koerlin's Obituary
AUBURN TWP. Clara L. Koerlin, 99 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Sunday March 20, 2016 in Troy Township, Ohio. Mrs. Koerlin was God's Gift to Us on October 26, 1916 in Warrensville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Blaze) Toth. A lifetime resident of Auburn Township, Mrs. Koerlin had been active with the Bainbridge Senior Brown Baggers and the Hiram Lunch Bunch, and was a former 4-H leader. She also enjoyed crocheting, an excellent quilter and gardening. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest continuing member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua, where she worked on the creation of the church pall. In addition, her membership at church included being active with the garden club and the Infant of Prague of Jesus Society. Survivors include her son Thomas L. (Linda) Koerlin of Burton; daughter Mary (Gerald) Mitchell of Troy Township; 5 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. On December 2, 1939, she married Fred C. Koerlin who preceded her in death in 1996. Also preceding was her grandson Aaron Koerlin, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Calling hours will be Tuesday March 22, 2016 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where prayers will be said Wednesday at 10:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday March 23, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd., Mantua, Ohio 44255, with Rev. Fr. Edward Stafford officiating. Final resting place will follow at Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Township. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations in her name to the church.
