Dan Brezovec's Obituary
MANTUA TWP. Daniel G. Brezovec, 75 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Friday April 10, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dan was God's Gift to Us on May 7, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Mirko and Pandora (Todeff) Brezovec. A graduate of John Adams High School in 1957, he had been a Portage County resident since 1962. He was a faithful employee of Ohio Bell for 35 years, retiring in 1993. Dan was an active member of the Telephone Pioneer's, and was the operating force each year of running their golf outings. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mantua, he served God and his church whenever called upon. Dan was a member and Past Grand Knight and 3rd. Degree of Knights of Columbus Council No. 3766, as well as a former District Deputy, a member and 4th. Degree of Father Cassidy Assembly No. 3034, and also had been Faithfull Navigator of this Assembly. Dan loved going to antique car shows, and the special times he spent over dinners with family and friends where he could extend his support and offer any type of help to all, yet his most memorable times were those spent with his wife, children and grandchildren, as family remained the aspect of his life that forever will be remembered and cherished by those who knew and loved him.On January 7, 1961, he married his beloved wife Kathleen " Kay" (Baker) Brezovec who survives at their home. Also surviving are his devoted children Daniel (Diane) Brezovec of Highland Hts., Jim (Hallie) Brezovec of Aurora, Brian (Vicki) Brezovec of Chagrin Falls, Kathleen "Kathy" (Joe) Emrock of Valley City, Mary (Arch) Ulatowski of Solon and Karen (Jim) Friedl of Medina, his dear siblings Richard (Jan) Brezovec of Sunnyvale, California, Robert (Kathy) Brezovec of Manhattan Beach, California and Penny (John) D'Angelo of Chardon and his 23 loving grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Tuesday 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where prayers will be said Wednesday at 9:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday April 15, 2015, 10:00 A. M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11045 St.Joseph Blvd., Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Rev. Michael Garvey officiating. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio.
