Daniel J. DeLeone's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLEDaniel J. DeLeone, 55 years of age, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 13, 2009 at his home in Garrettsville, after a long illness of congestive heart failure and a recent diagnosis of cancer. Daniel was born in Ravenna, Ohio on February 9, 1954. Daniel graduated from James A. Garfield High School, where he was a star basketball player and helped lead his team to two consecutive PCL Championships in 1971. It was the best record in the school's history for many years to follow. Daniel was an alumni from Hiram College, Class of 1977. His focus of study was in Political Science. After attending Hiram College, he served in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany and received his honorable discharge. Daniel enjoyed oil painting and loved music and lyrics. He is survived by his mother Wanda, son Jason, sister Rita Pesecky and niece and nephew, Nicole and Ryan. He was preceded in death by his father David Paul and brother's David Victor and Matthew Todd DeLeone. No calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Thursday May 21, 2009 at 5:30 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St. Rt. 44 at Pioneer Trail, Mantua where military honors will be presented. Daniel will be laid to rest at a private Graveside Service at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram.
