David H. Arnold's Obituary
Hiram David H. Arnold 75 years of age of Pasadena, California, passed away February 22, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. David was born on October 9, 1933 in Buffalo, NY. The son of the late Raymond W. and Gladys M. (Seymour) Arnold. Formerly of the Hiram area, David received his Bachelor's degree from Hiram College and his Master's degree from Western Reserve. Through his association in Hiram he spent five seasons as an actor, writer, set designer and musician with the Majestic Showboat vaudeville troupe touring the Ohio River in the 1950's. David was an avid musician playing the piano, trombone and calliope as well as playing in jazz bands and singing in barbershop quartets. He also co-wrote books, music and lyrics for the musicals Three-A-Day and Dancing Dan's Christmas. In California, David was an accomplished composer, producer, writer and film/video editor. He spent many of his years as a partner and corporate officer of Dave Bell Associates and as the owner/manager of Cahuenga West Video. Prior to California, he held positions as director, writer and producer for WEWS-TV in Cleveland. Survivors include his children David H. Arnold, Jr. of Chagrin Falls, Cindy A. (Jeff) Sheehan of Garrettsville, Erik A. (Heidi) Arnold of Seattle, Washington, Scott (Betty) Petti of Eagle Rock, California and Nancy (Todd Wilder) Hickman of Monrovia, California. Six grandchildren, brothers Thomas S. (Judie) Arnold of Georgia, Raymond W. (Shirley) Arnold of Arizona and one sister Janice E. Arnold of Brookpark also survive. A graveside funeral service for David will be Saturday May 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society P.O.
