Sharing memories of our Frankfurt, Germany days was always a highlight of the year. Last year, we spent a night with Dave and friend, Joan in Frankfort, KY. It was a wonderful visit and had hoped to return for another visit. It is sad that we will no longer be able to share our FHS memories. He will be missed by all who knew him. In the November 25 issue of the Aurora Advocate I wrote an article about David and his friends who published a “newspaper” when they were little. I wish he would have been able to read it. You can find the article on the Advocate’s website. It was a very popular read among a small audience who enjoyed the wisdom of its young writers!
Because Dave so loved nature and it’s preservation, we can think of no better way to memorialize a remarkable wonderful man.

What a wonderful tribute to a life well lived. To us and to our sons Dave was always “grampa Dave”. He shared in our life’s celebrations from weddings, high school and college graduations to vacations visiting he and Nana Ann at Lake Wenatchee and Leavenworth Washington. He also shared in our sorrows at the loss of Steve’s mom Nana Ann and both of my parents. We will always have fond memories of our times together. We are grateful that we had an opportunity to visit Dave in Aurora, the place where he ended his remarkable life journey “full circle” . I attended Hathaway Brown with Daves wife Jan. we connected after she died and he came to visit me in Florida. We shared many memories of high school days in Aurora and our mutual friend Bill Miller who was my high school sweetheart. I am so sorry for your loss. Dave lived a long and interesting life and I am sure he will by missed .
We can not say enough GOOD about David!! He was a Class Act in All dimensions! We already have missed him dearly since he left the west coast. Unfortunately we were not able to locate Him to stay in touch! We just hope that he knows that, like everyone who met David, we love him, respect him and are so blessed to have known him!! What a legacy! I met Dave during his visits with Bryan, my sister Nora, and his grandchildren. He was always gracious and so proud of his family. It was striking how much Bryan looked like his dad and shared his intelligence and sense of humor. My heart goes out to them as they suffer this loss. Praying for the whole family. May his best qualities live on in his children and grandchildren.
