David Rodney Macak Sr.'s Obituary
David R. Macak, Sr., age 86 of Mantua Twp., passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 after a short illness. David was born on March 1, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Mildred (Vatava) Macak (both deceased). He attended Crestwood High School in Mantua, Ohio and on December 21, 1957, he married his wife of 66 years, Norma (Parks) Macak.
David was a member of the Bricklayers Union and the local Ruritan and Lions Clubs and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing yardwork and watching western movies, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his children, Laura (Neil) Murphy, of Mantua, NJ., Melissa Gentille of Austintown and Angela (Russell) Seaman of Shalersville; special granddaughters, Cassidy Herman and Miranda Seaman, and additional grandchildren Lauren (Rob) Schork, Zechariah (Devon) Murphy, Leah (Justin) Hamm, Esaias Murphy, Elisha (Brianna) Murphy and Isaac Murphy; and great grandchildren Deacon, Avery, Bryce, Dallas, Hunter, Evelyn, Landon, Juliet, Levi, Rayna, Silas and Dawson. Thank you to Barbara Haney for being a wonderful helper and sister-in-law.
David was preceded in death by two children, David Rodney Macak Jr. and Tracy (Lon) Herman; and his siblings, Richard Macak, Arliss Van Deusen and Nancy Mastrodonato.
