Dawn F. Harper's Obituary
MANTUADawn F. Harper, 66 years of age, passed away Sunday January 30, 2011 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Born in Ravenna, Ohio on March 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Lorraine (Karau) Luedtke. Dawn grew up in Ravenna and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1962. A resident of Mantua since 1967, she and her husband were the owners/operators of D&D Ceramics since 1968, and Dawn was a teacher, wholesale and retail greenware distributor. During their years in business, they formed many lasting friendships which were and will remain cherished in the years to come. Dawn had a passion for her love of animals that was well known by those who knew her. On January 15, 1966, she married her loving husband , David. C. of 45 years who survives at their home. Also surviving is her dearest daughter Donielle Harper of Ravenna, sisters Gail Hughes of Sandusky, Ohio and Sandra (James) Phillips of Shalersville, nieces Melodee Bowden of Mantua and Monique (David) Riddle of Norwalk, Ohio and nephews Shawn Weideman and Shayn (Janet) Weideman and Eric (Debbie) Rutherford all of Ravenna and Brad (Jackie) Weideman of Stow, and sister-in-law Sandra (Cecil) Rutherford of Lady Lake Fl. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be Friday February 4, 2011 6:00 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church 170 North Freedom Street in Ravenna with Rev. Daniel J. Caruso, Jr. officiating. A time of fellowship for family and friends will immediately follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Robinson Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
