Donald G. Byler's Obituary
BURTON Donald G. Byler, 67 years of age, passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 unexpectedly at Harrison County Hospital in Cadiz, Ohio. Born in Claridon Township, Ohio on October 9, 1943, Mr. Byler was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Hostetler) Byler. A resident of the Cadiz area since 2004, Mr. Byler grew up in Newbury and was a graduate of Newbury High School. A longtime Geauga County resident, he was the owner-operator of Ideal Taping in Burton for 43 years, retiring in 2004.He enjoyed fishing, hunting, prospecting for gold and farming and had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a member of the Sly Fox motorcycle club and the Jewett sportsman club. Survivors include his loving children Steven G. Byler of Hiram and Kay M. (Dennis) Jelinek of Aurora, dearest granddaughter Leeann Greitzer and great-granddaughter Jenna Lee Nelson, his siblings David ( Joyce) Byler of Arizona, Lee " Jim" (Carol) Byler, Henry (Judy) Byler, Irene (Marvin) Wallis and Sara Sass all of Georgia and his devoted companion Shelly Emigh of Cadiz. Cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be Thursday July 28, 2011 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua. Mr. Byler will be laid to rest at Welton Cemetery in Burton, Ohio at a private family interment.
