Donald G. Laubert's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE Donald G. Laubert, 76 years of age, passed away Saturday May 2, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Atwater, Ohio on July 3, 1938, he was the son of the late Donald W. and Virginia (Evans) Laubert.A resident of Garrettsville since 1969, Don had resided the past 8 years in Newton Falls. Don was the owner-operator of Sky Lanes in Garrettsville for over 30 years, retiring in 2005. Don brought bowling to a new height in his years of operating his bowling center, including being instrumental in the organization of the High School Bowling Program. He was a member and inducted into both the Portage County and Tri-County Bowling Hall of Fame. An avid sports fan, Don was a very active supporter of numerous youth sport teams. He held membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2705 in Garrettsville for many years. While known for his bowling skills and business operation, Don will always be remembered for his love and special times spent with his family as being truly what was important to him. On May 25, 1976, he married Carolyn Ann (Skidmore) Laubert who survives at their home. In addition to Ann, he is survived by his children Greg (Debra) Laubert of Bear Creek, North Carolina, Doug Laubert of Freedom Township, Ron (Anastasia) Miller of St. Mary's, West Virginia, Carla (Mike) Harris of Newton Falls, Anette (Bob) Castello of Doylestown, Ohio, Jodi (Billy) Alford of Lebanon, Kentucky and Shawna (Bill) Potteiger of Nelson Township, his brother Bob (Mary Ann) Laubert of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, his sister Mary Laubert Tassone of Kent, Ohio, 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary Laubert and granddaughter Taylor Ann Alford. Calling hours will be Wednesday May 6, 2015 at the Green family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 4:00 P.M.-7:30 P.M. where a brief service will begin at 7:30 P.M. with Rev.
