Donald & Patricia Baragry's Obituary
Donald R. Baragry and Patricia J. Baragry
Donald R. Baragry was born on June 4, 1928, and passed away on October 6, 2024. His wife of
74 years, Patricia J. Baragry was born on October 30, 1931, and passed away October 30, 2024
on her 93rd birthday.
Don was born and raised in Mantua, Ohio by his parents Thomas Baragry, Sr. and Mildred Haley
Baragry. Pat was born in Fort Erie, Ontario Canada to Clarence Cartwright and Viola Vale
Cartwright.
Don’s siblings are Thomas Jr. (deceased) and sister Elaine Grubb of Ravenna. Pat had several
step and half siblings who added much joy to her life. Don and Pat both attended Mantua
Village School, where they met and where he excelled in athletics while playing three sports.
Donald and Pat were high school sweethearts and got married on February 4, 1950. Their four
children are: Colleen (Jeff) Crane of Mantua, Cindy (Mike Adams) Herr of Ravenna, Georgia
Larson of Largo, Florida and Rollin Baragry of Ravenna.
Donald and his father owned the Mantua Hardware in Mantua Village for 20 years. He also
worked as a General Foreman at Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg.
Pat was a wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was also employed by
Mataline Corporation in Mantua.
Soon after their retirements, they moved to sunny Okeechobee, Florida where he was an avid
golfer. Pat golfed and took pleasure in the leisurely southern lifestyle and the warm weather. A
few years later, they moved to Largo, Florida to be closer to family while he enjoyed watching
Tampa’s pro sports teams and OSU football. Pat volunteered, played cards and enjoyed tending
to her flower garden. They lived in Florida for over 30 years.
Their grandchildren are Michael Herr (deceased), Laura Herr, Lisa Holloway, Rachel Cobbe,
Heather Oswald, Ian, Tim and Robert Baragry, Ted and Joe Crane. They have nine great
grandchildren.
Donald’s smile and sense of humor will be missed by his family and friends. Pat’s smile and her
easy laugh will always be remembered. It became obvious that one could not live without the
other.
The family would like to sincerely thank Crossroads Hospice and Longmeadow Rehabilitation
Center. Cremation has taken place and there will be no funerals. Their final resting place will be
Hillside Cemetery in Mantua Village.
