Doris Jean Dart's Obituary
AURORA/MANTUA Doris Jean Dart, 93 years of age, passed away Sunday July 24, 2011 at the Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina, Ohio. Doris was born on January 30, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Kenneth C. and Bertha E. ( Marsh) Marsh. Doris lived in the Mantua area in her early years, where at the age of 17 she began playing the piano at the Hilltop Christian Church in Mantua where she was a member. Later she resided in the greater Cleveland area, and then in Aurora. She also became a very active member of the Bainbridge Community Church where she played both the piano and organ for her church.Doris was employed for several years as a bank teller at the First National Bank of Mantua.She was a Charter Member of James A. Garfield Chapter O.E.S. and a former Worthy Matron, a former member of Mystic Chapter O.E.S. and presently a member of the Kent Chapter O.E.S. Doris enjoyed drawing, painting with water colors, quilting, cooking and with her second husband Warren Dart traveling world-wide became a mutual pleasure for both of them.Doris was preceded in death by her first husband Robert H. Cassel in 1986, her second husband Warren Dart in 2006, her daughter Barbara J. Gartland and her sisters Virginia Dailly and Eleanor Rendall. Survivors include her children Robert A. (Beth) Cassel of Raleigh, North Carolina, Joyce L. (Paul) Hockenberger of Wellington, Ohio and Donna M. (Carl) Garrett of Suisun City, California, as well as 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday from 10:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where O.E.S. services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Her funeral service will follow Thursday July 28,2011 at the funeral home at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Brian Burke officiating. Doris will then be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio.
