Douglas Huffman's Obituary
HIRAMDouglas Hoyt Huffman, 68 years of age, passed away Thursday April 14, 2016 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 13, 1947, he was the son of the late William and Stephanna (Hadel) Huffman. Formerly of Wadsworth, Ohio, he had resided in the Hiram area since 1988. Mr. Huffman had been employed as a lineman for Cleveland Illuminating Company for 27 years until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. A member of Life Church Assembly of God in Garrettsville, he was a gentleman whose Love of God will forever be remembered by all who knew him. On October 23, 1971, he married Mary Ellen (Proda) Huffman who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Brett (Mindy) Huffman of Mantua and Danielle (Robert) Allison of Hiram; his siblings Dean (Christy) Huffman of Hiram, Dale Huffman of Brunswick, Sandy (Jim) McDermott of Burton, Ohio, Linda (Brad) Rarbaugh of Hiram, and two grandchildren Taylor Wright and Morgan Wright. No calling hours. Cremation has taken place. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Greg Ebie officiating. Full Military Honors will then be presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. A Celebration of His Life will immediately follow at Life Church Assembly of God, 10280 St. Rt. 88, Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
