Duane Arnold Gotthardt's Obituary
BURTON TWP.- Duane Arnold Gotthardt, 44 years of age, of Burton Township, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 following a brief illness. Duane was born in Ravenna, Ohio on September 9, 1964 the son of Leonard D. and Jean C. (Frohring) Gotthardt. A graduate of James A. Garfield High School in Garrettsville, he was a lifeA?time Portage and Geauga County area resident, living in Newbury since 1990 until recently moving to Burton Township. A self employed farmer known for his work ethic, Duane will be remembered as a true "Animal Lover, especially of cats", a person, whose mild manner, soft smile and gentle way was extended to all he came to know. Survivors include his mother, Jean (Eugene Brown) Frohring of Burton; brothers, Charlie Gotthardt of Garrettsville, Patrick (Terry) Sarqent of Windham, Tim (Neva) Sargent of Chesterland and Walter Bushman of Tampa, Florida; sisters, Barbara Sargent and Frances (Jake) Mills both of Missouri and Anne Bushman of Twinsburg. He also leaves to mourn his passing many loving nieces and nephews. Duane was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Gotthardt in 2003 and his brother, John Sargent in 2006. No calling hours. A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Auburn Community Church, 11048 Washington Street, Auburn with Pastor Charles Brown officiating. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the services. Duane is being laid to rest beside his father at Hillside Cemetery in West Farmington at a private graveside service. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home and Crematory Service in Mantua.
