Edward G. Boehnlein, Jr's Obituary
TROY TWP. Edward G. Boehnlein, Jr., 87 years of age, passed away Saturday March 26, 2016 in Aurora, Ohio. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Edward G. and Julia (Kall) Boehnlein, Sr. A longtime resident of Troy Township and Geauga County, Mr. Boehnlein had been employed at Kroger Foods, Local 880 for 28 years, following which he worked at Rich Plan Foods in Bainbridge, then as a custodian at Kenston Schools where he retired from after 10 years of service. His love of music resulted in the founding of his own band in Cleveland, The Eddie Lane Polka Band, bringing enjoyment of Polka music to many for several years. He enjoyed antique cars and going to antique car shows, and will proudly be remembered by those who have cherished memories of Mr. Boehnlein as the "Family Caretaker" and the devotion he had for his wife and children. On July 3, 1954, he married his beloved wife Orsa Boehnlein who preceded him in death on December 5, 2011. Survivors include his devoted sons Thomas (Bonnie) Boehnlein of Euclid, Ohio and Edward G. (Lynne) Boehnlein, 3rd. of Shalersville; his dear siblings Ken Boehnlein of Ravenna, Marcella Boehnlein of Streetsboro and Kathy Burg of Pepper Pike, Ohio; and loving grandchildren Victoria, Ed, Briana and Brittany and great-grandchildren Rocco and Jayde. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Thursday March 31, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Edward Stafford of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua. Mr. Boehnlein will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Bainbridge Township beside his beloved Orsa, with Victoria Hamary, Justin Hamary, Briana Martoncik, Brittany Boehnlein, Ed Boehnlein and Lance Smith respectively serving as pallbearers.
