Eleanor "Jeanne" (Vaughan) Tancos' Obituary
Eleanor "Jeanne" (Vaughan) Tancos, age 83 of Garrettsville, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, July 4, 2026. Born January 12, 1943 in Gouverneur, NY, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Carl and Glenys (Kellough) Bogardus. Beloved wife of the late James Vaughan and the late George Tancos, and fiance of the late Lee Blews. Loving mother of Kevin (Robin) Vaughan, Randy (Ann) Vaughan, Brian (Shelly) Vaughan and Todd (Jennifer) Vaughan. Cherished grandmother of 11, great grandmother of 5. Dear sister of Karen Ferguson, Darla Cowles and the late James Bogardus.
Jeanne was a proud 1961 graduate of Crestwood High School, and she carried the values of hard work and perseverance with her throughout her life. Her years of service as a server at Walden Country Club from 1975 through 1995 were marked by dedication and reliability. She took pride in her work and in the relationships she built along the way. Her patience and steady manner made her a trusted and appreciated part of the Walden Country Club community for two decades.
Outside of work, Jeanne enjoyed a full and lively life filled with friendships, fun, and music. She was a member of the Garrettsville Eagles, where she found companionship and connection. She enjoyed bowling, going to casinos, and playing Bingo, and she embraced these pastimes with enthusiasm and good cheer. Music was also a treasured part of her life. She loved singing karaoke and especially enjoyed Elvis and country music, which brought her happiness and reflected her spirited personality. Whether she was listening to a favorite song or joining in with a familiar tune, Jeanne found joy in the simple pleasures that made life meaningful.
Above all else, Jeanne's family was her greatest joy. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering, and the bonds she shared with them were among the most important parts of her life. She gave her love freely and sincerely, and her family will always remember the warmth, support, and affection she offered so naturally. Her legacy lives on in the memories, traditions, and values she helped create within her family circle.
Jeanne will be remembered for her kind heart, her patience, her loving nature, and the many ways she enriched the lives of others. Though she will be deeply missed, the memory of her gentle spirit and the love she gave so freely will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
