Eleonora Alice Goodfellow's Obituary
AURORAEleonora Alice Goodfellow, 85, of Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, formerly of Aurora, died on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Meadow Brook Health Care Center of Tel Hai Retirement Community. Born September 3, 1924, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Alvin and Alice (Orkies) Wellendorff. The family lived in Louisville until she was a teenager, then moved to Jacksonville, Florida. She attended Presentation Academy in Louisville and she graduated from Saint Paul's Catholic School in Jacksonville. In 1945 she married Daniel R. Goodfellow with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. In 1955 they moved to Aurora, Ohio, where she lived until 2003. Eleonora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a gourmet cook and was passionate about animals. The strength, courage and positive outlook she possessed throughout her life contributed greatly to the brave manner in which she faced her final years. She will be sadly missed by the many who were privileged to be touched by her generosity, wisdom, creativity, humor and warmth. Eleonora is survived by daughters Trudy Taylor and Victoria Goodfellow Pollock of Downingtown, PA; granddaughter Tiffany DeGrandis of Exton, PA; great grandson Robert DeGrandis of Exton, PA; and sister Marian Dick of Coral Gables, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel and daughter Holly Goodfellow. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Aurora on August 14, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Joseph Witmer officiating. Mrs. Goodfellow has been laid to rest at Aurora City Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, Mantua, Ohio.
