Elva L. Howington's Obituary
MANTUA Elva L. Howington, 91 years of age, passed away Monday April, 6, 2015 at the Hospice of Medina County. Born in Tazewell County, Virginia on March 31, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charlie L. and Nannie (Boothe) Whitt.A resident of the Mantua area for over 25 years, Mrs. Howington had formerly lived in Solon where she was employed at Night & Day Dry Cleaners, retiring in 1994 after 22 years of service. While cooking and sewing were some of her pastimes, those times spent with her children and grandchildren will forever be remembered as her special enjoyments. Elva also was a lady who kept the Lord close within her heart. Survivors include her children Wayne (Gail) Howington of Deerfield, Smitty Darrell Howington of Mantua, Monte (Jan) Howington of Virginia, Dee (Jim) Davies of Toledo, Ohio and Lori (Tom) Cline of Spencer, Ohio, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Dallas Howington, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 1 great-grandchild. No calling hours. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 9, 2015, 11:00 A.M. in the Mausoleum of Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bedford Hts., Ohio. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
