Emma Leferink's Obituary
Emma Leferink, age 99 (4 months short of her 100th birthday) of Mantua, Passed away Friday, January 31st, 2025, at the Ohman family living at Blossom. Born June 28, 1925 in Wilkinsburg, PA, Emma was the daughter of the late Emma (Gaci) and Peter Benes.
Emma was a graduate of Euclid Central High School and attended Ohio University. On February 21, 1948, she married her beloved husband Edwin Leferink and together they moved to Mantua in 1951. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary unit 193, Mantua Village Garden Club, the American Red Cross, and Hilltop Christian Church. Emma enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking for family and friends.
Emma is survived by her daughter Kathryn Roman of Daytona Beach FL; grandchildren Rae Ann, Erin, Sarah and Jimmy; great grandchildren Riley, Cole, and Avery; a daughter-in-law Bonnie Leferink, a brother Jimmy Benes and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Edwin, her son Michael and siblings Al, Charlie, Peter and Helen.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Saturday, February 22, 2025, At Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail (at the corner of State Route 44), Mantua, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, immediately followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM. Emma will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Hillside Cemetery.
