Eric McCauley's Obituary
Eric B. McCauley, age 63, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Born August 16, 1962 in Mantua, Ohio, Eric was the cherished son of Roger McCauley and the late Carol (nee Borden) McCauley. Loving husband of 37 years to Carol (nee Adams), dear brother of David (Terri) McCauley, Rosemary Wilson, Michael McCauley, Richard (Judy) McCauley and Stephen (Mae) McCauley. Brother-in-law of Gregg Adams, son-in-law of Lois Adams and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Eric was also a devoted caregiver to countless spoiled fur babies over the years.
Eric was a 1981 graduate of Crestwood High School. After completing his education, he went on to dedicate 28 years of service to Chrysler Inc. as a Boiler Engineer. Through his long career, Eric was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and commitment to doing his job well. He took pride in his work and understood the value of perseverance, reliability, and dedication.
Outside of work, Eric had a passion for anything with a motor. From an early age, he found excitement in the sound, speed, and freedom that came with mechanical things and the open road. In his younger days, he especially enjoyed dirt bike riding and 4-wheeler riding, pursuits that reflected his adventurous spirit and love of action. These interests brought him many memorable moments and were a source of joy throughout his life.
Eric also loved watching NASCAR and Formula 1 racing. He appreciated the skill, precision, and intensity of the sport, and he followed it with enthusiasm. Whether he was watching a race, talking about engines, or simply enjoying the thrill of motorized machines, Eric found happiness in the things that moved fast and ran strong. His enthusiasm was contagious, and it was easy for others to share in his excitement.
Those who knew Eric will remember him as a man who valued honesty, hard work, and the company of others. He had a straightforward nature and a warm presence that made people feel comfortable around him. He enjoyed life in a practical and genuine way, and he found fulfillment in the routines, hobbies, and relationships that gave his days meaning.
Eric's legacy is one of steadfastness, passion, and enduring love for the things and people that mattered most to him. He leaves behind cherished memories that will be treasured by family and friends for years to come.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 2-4 p.m, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. Immediately following the funeral service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Mantua Center School, 11741 Mantua Center Rd, Mantua.
