Esther B. Zaugg's Obituary
Hiram Esther B. Zaugg, 96 years of age, a resident of Hiram for 25 years until 2000, passed away Saturday May 2, 2009 at the Woodlands at Robinson. Mrs. Zaugg was born on February 1, 1913 in Fort Scott, Kansas. The daughter of then late George Washington and Mary (Stoll) Wyatt. Then youngest of 11 children, Esther came to Cleveland in 1931 and worked her early years as a nanny for area families and as a hostess for a Cleveland restaurant. A homemaker, she enjoyed painting; that included oil paintings which she sold, gardening and singing which she did professionally prior to arriving in Cleveland. Mrs. Zaugg was a member of the Hiram Christian Church and Hiram Historical Society. Survivors include her son-in-law James (Patricia) Oster of Mantua, her grandson David, granddaughter Karen (Tim) Stahlman and great-grandchildren Rachael and Jason Stahlman. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack C. Zaugg in 1989, her daughter Linda Oster in 1997 and 5 brothers and 5 sisters. No calling hours. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home and Crematory Service in Mantua. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Hiram Christian Church.
