Eugene Ronald Minor, age 89, passed away at his son Michael’s home in Mantua on January 2, 2022. Born on August 1, 1932 with his twin sister, Ella Rose, he was the son of the late Jesse and Maude (Springston) Minor. Eugene is survived by his sons, Michael and Barry (Cheryl); granddaughters, Jennie (Kyle Driggers), Sophie, and Greta; and sister, Kathleen Brannon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Morris Minor, and second wife, Jeanne Kozma Minor.
Eugene graduated from Shinnston High School and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. After returning from his tour of duty, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State College in West Virginia. After teaching for several years, he received his master’s degree at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Eugene was a science teacher for over 30 years and retired from Bedford Senior High School. He was known as the tough advanced biology teacher who prepared his students for college.
A private family burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bedford Heights. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where condolences and memories may be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
