Eugene Sell's Obituary
AURORAEugene D. Sell, 89 years of age, passed away Saturday April 2, 2016 in Aurora, Ohio. Born in Leadmine, West Virginia on May 24, 1926, he was the son of the late Dayton and Alice (Cosner) Sell.A resident of Aurora since 1958, he had been employed at Joseph T. Ryerson Steel in Cleveland, retiring in 1981. Mr. Sell proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Aurora Post No. 2629 V.F.W.Mr. Sell will be remembered as a hardworking man, whose frugal and tidy manner were characteristics that were unique to his personality. He enjoyed listening to the older style country music provided by such artists as Hank Williams and George Jones, and found a special place in his heart for the time spent with his grandchildren when they were small.Preceding him in death was his son Edward Alan Sell and brothers Willard and Norman Sell. Survivors include his daughters Donna (Donald) Hintz, Janet (Jerry) Strong and Victoria Disman, all of Mantua; brothers Levi Sell of Elyria and Henry Sell of Arizona; sisters Wilma Richards of Brunswick, Ohio, Eleanor (Gary) Huff and Joanne Reeves both of Wellington, Ohio and Doris Jean Long of Tennessee; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Sell will be Wednesday April 6, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until the time of his service. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township where full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Acting as pallbearers will be Bob Disman, Clint Hintz, Ken Sell, Daniel Sell, Curtis Strong, Nicholas Porco, Tony Strong and Bradon Svab.
