Evelyn M. Braun's Obituary
WINDHAM Evelyn M. Braun, 85 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at her residence in Windham. Evelyn was God's Gift to Us on April 12, 1929 in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Lester A. and Marjorie (Leisenring) Hertzog. A graduate of Windham High School; she traveled and lived in many of the United States during her lifetime, returning to Windham later on. An active member of the Windham United Methodist Church, Mrs. Braun also was a longtime member of the Windham American Legion Post No. 674 Auxiliary. A lady of many talents, she was an awesome seamstress, enjoyed crocheting, reading, bowling, cake baking and her cooking skills were second to none, even cooking for herself up to the day of her passing. She also was an avid sports fan, especially that of Ohio State University. Evelyn will forever be remembered for the love of her family and "Grandbabies", both which she gave to all of them and that which they gave to her. Survivors include her devoted children Thomas (Paulette) Justham, Deborah(Philip) Snyder and Barbara (Don) Vanderbloom all of Windham, her dear siblings Kenneth Hertzog of West Virginia, Barry (Brenda) Hertzog of Michigan, Marjorie Jane Blewitt of Texas and Karen Franklin of Florida, her 10 loving grandbabies and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her 4-legged purring child "Precious". She was preceded in death by her first Husband Simon Justham, her second husband William R. Braun, sister Verlie Williams and brother Ned Hertzog. Funeral services for Mrs. Braun will be Saturday February 14, 2015, 1:00 P.M. at the Green family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St.Rt. 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Pastor Katherine Thomas officiating. Calling hours will be Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Final resting place will follow at Windham Township Cemetery.
